Custom Printing is becoming more popular than ever.
At 1800 For Promo we produce customisation on uniforms, our promotional products and our signage solutions so I guess this is why were asked to produce custom print tiles for Oporto.
The image on this blog post is the first wall we ever did for Oporto, its located in Miranda fair and looks as incredible today as the day we installed it.
Producing custom printed tiles was no easy feet, it is something that took lots of prototyping to get right and make sure they would last the test of time during installation and while in position.
How do we do it?
We start be producing layered printing files for each tile and create a grid system for the printing order.
After tile selection has been made we apply a specialised pre-printing preparation and then carefully transport them onto our flatbed printer to lay down the ink. This is the same flatbed printer we use to print a variety of substrates such as plywood, MDF. After the printing is complete the tiles are individually painted using a specially formulated 2 pac clear paint formula which seals in the graphic and ensures a standardised installation and durability for cleaning after they have been installed.
What size custom printed tiles can we produce?
There is not limitations when it comes to size and shape of our custom printed tiles.
Where can custom printed tiles be used?
Originally intended for Commercial use like Restaurants, cafes and the like the printed tiles have grown into domestic applications with us recently producing tiles that were used in a swimming pool. They can also be used for kitchens, bathrooms, entry ways or anywhere you would like to have something you can’t find in a tile store! We can create stunning feature walls in outdoor areas the possibilities are endless.
With regular orders being produced in the year gone it would seem custom printed tiles are here to stay and likely to be seen at a home near you…
